Napa Autopro is a very well-known shop for all of your automotive repair and maintenance needs, and Shawnee Station Automotive is one of the best local examples of this in Calgary.

As expected, Shawnee has a very long list of services that just show how competent and all-around its mechanics can be regardless of what kind of ride you bring.

We find Shawnee’s team very thorough and quick in the diagnosis of any mechanical or electrical issues, and they even explain it to customers in a way that is easy to comprehend for those not too familiar with automotive slang.

It’s still no surprise to us why they would be this meticulous, as Shawnee is also one of the best locations for vehicle inspections. On that front, we say that it can definitely be relied on to ensure that your car is as road-worthy as it can be.

But while its price quotes can be considered fairly reasonable, a common theme we and other customers noticed is that oil changes can get pricy for some vehicle models.

However, we have no qualms over the oil change procedure itself, which it does very efficiently with not a drop of oil in the engine bay or underneath the vehicle in sight. We’re quite impressed, considering it does get very busy at times.

Knibbe Automotive Repair should be on your itinerary if you’re looking for a shop that knows how to work on any vehicle model under the sun while also treating you like family.

This is quite a nice location to be at thanks to its two separate big facilities with lots of parking space outside of either, which is why it doesn’t bother us that much even during busier days.

Knibbe prides itself on having some of the best technicians around, and we couldn’t agree more with its demonstration of quick diagnostics that would’ve otherwise taken longer than necessary if it’s just your average shop.

The thing is this isn’t your average shop at all, not with the kind of work ethic its mechanics and staff members demonstrate. 

We even find it quite wholesome that they treat each other kindly just as how they would treat every person that walks in. It’s another level of community that we haven’t quite felt in other places.

However, even with the consistently high reviews it has been getting throughout the years, it still has its fair share of bad days, specifically involving past employees who were either rude, dishonest, or irresponsible.

The good news is that John Knibbe, the owner, doesn’t just sweep these things under the rug but rather makes things right as soon as he can. We’re glad to say that the shop has been doing a lot better in terms of overall customer service nowadays.

Harvest Hills Auto has already been around for quite some time, but performance is still a strong suit for this location even after growing in popularity throughout the years.

Aside from doing a superb job working on one car at a time, the shop even offers fleet services, which is always a good way to save time and money for businesses wanting to maintain their fleet of vehicles all at once.

Communication is also generally good when it comes to its staff, but we wouldn’t say it has been perfect. On occasion, certain representatives have given the wrong info about vehicles, while others can be quite confusing to talk to over the phone.

This means that you still need to keep an eye out for whatever bill you receive to see if they’ve actually charged you correctly. On the flip side, we found prices for this place to be quite reasonable across the majority of its services.

All in all, Harvest Hills Auto still has tons of pros and great days under its belt compared to any regular shop, which is why it made this list in the first place. Good and inoffensive are two ways we would describe it, way better than just “average”.

This is the kind of beautiful shop aesthetic enthusiasts like us love to be in, but what’s even more beautiful is how all the employees conduct themselves with passion both while working on a car and conversing with a client.

Even during our first visit here, they treated us as if we’d known them for decades, which is exactly the kind of treatment that anyone could appreciate out of any business, in our opinion.

What’s also surprising is that the prices aren’t as “premium” as you’d expect coming from a place like this. While it’s not the cheapest place out there, we think there’s good value for money to be had when having your car worked on here.

With great demonstrations of top-notch service, high-tech facilities, and stellar customer care to boot, it’s no wonder Sheni’s Auto-Trend is highly trusted around Calgary. We daresay it’s the car repair service for car lovers.

Our only real concern with it is that its expertise in other non-European brands remains unclear. But given how complicated certain European models are, we’re still positive its team can just about handle anything you throw at it.

Monza Auto is one of those places that you can easily mistake for being a shop that only specializes in Italian exotics, but it has proven us wrong for it works with a lot more than that.

Other than prancing horses and raging bulls, Monza Auto is capable of working on a wide range of vehicle brands, be it import or domestic. We believe it really doesn’t matter what you bring, as long as it can fit through its garage door.

Professional expertise is, without a doubt, this shop’s middle name. From quick and honest communication to comprehensive reports, we’re quite fond of its attention to detail in anything that needs to be done.

With this kind of skillset and an almanac’s worth of knowledge in cars, it’s also naturally a very good facility to get your vehicle inspected, whether it be for insurance, “pre-purchase”, or other types.

Now we do need to address the elephant in the room, which is that price affordability can depend on the particular car model you have. Needless to say, a Porsche is going to cost more to repair than a Toyota minivan.

For most general maintenance tasks, however, we can still say that they’re fairly priced or at least on par with the majority of shops that don’t overcharge a simple oil change.
