Despite having a short list of services on its website, the team at Merson works on every major component of a vehicle with expertise and precision, making them a very reliable bunch to work with.
This means “tires” don’t strictly mean just working on putting a new set of rubber on your ride, as we’ve also seen them make quick work of tasks such as wheel balancing and alignment.
However, Merson Automotive is quite known for its superior tire services and repairs, and this is also partly thanks to it using some of our favorite brands like Bridgestone, Michelin, Goodyear, and Yokohama.
Don’t get us wrong, it’s still far from a perfectly run business, especially during busier days that give rise to lots of unanswered inquiries and longer waiting times. Its price quotes for suspension parts aren’t exactly the cheapest either.
For the most part, we can still say it has done a great job of maintaining its high standards for customer service over the years. We’ve even noticed a boost in overall performance from its staff over the past few months.
It’s also a big plus that they can lend you a courtesy car just in case yours needs to stay at the shop for a while. We think this is a great way to avoid inconveniencing customers and more shops should follow suit.

Speedy is a renowned group of local auto repair shops across Canada that has been catering to all kinds of vehicles for years with top-notch service in mind.
Speedy Auto Service in Montreal is one such location we found to be more than capable of giving that level of service, even if it is a relatively new branch that just opened its garage doors back in 2014.
We like the simplicity of how it lists its services since not everybody is bothered to learn too much gearhead jargon. At the same time, Speedy’s mechanics are very much willing to give further explanation should the customer need it.
The shop also regularly offers different promotions like free brake inspections and discounts on various parts, which we observed to be a pretty big trend for any Speedy location we go to.
Price quotes are also quite reasonable for this place, although there have been some instances in the past where they inputted the incorrect vehicle model, which could, of course, affect the pricing of the parts for that particular vehicle.
We think this is more of a case of negligence rather than an attempted scam since the business is still very transparent about its mistakes, so customer service is far from terrible at all.
It also closes at 8 PM during weekdays, one of the latest closing times for a non-24-hour shop. In some instances, it’s even willing to take emergency repairs, which definitely comes in handy during the winter.

Everything about Midas screams “Go big or go home” in a good way, making it the farthest thing from just a run-of-the-mill repair shop that you just happen to stumble upon down the block.
Midas decided to go big on its list of repair and maintenance services, which is already a good sign about the shop’s professional experience and qualifications for wrenching on anything with wheels.
It even has extensive maintenance packages such as the “Midas’ Touch Maintenance Package”, which is a good idea if you’re going for more than just your standard oil change anyway.
This auto repair shop is also a great choice for those looking to change tires on their EV (electric vehicle), which is another one of its services that caught our attention.
However, we honestly think that this place does go bigger on repair bills as well. While we can’t necessarily call it downright “expensive” to have your car worked on here, Midas still charges a bit more on average than other competitors we’ve reviewed.
Going by this, we do recommend taking advantage of its numerous coupons and offers and even trying out its “Midas Credit Card”, all of which can significantly offset the location’s higher price quotes.
Other than that, Midas still has impeccable customer service, with staff being both quick to assist you and also get the job done. We just wish it was at least open on a Saturday, though.

Auto 360MTL Inc. may be one of the smaller independently-owned repair shops on our list, but it deserves as much praise from us as it gets from plenty of its satisfied clients.
First things first, while it is technically an auto repair shop, Auto 360MTL primarily focuses on repairing collision damages, removing scratches, repainting, replacing body panels, and the like.
Hence, the main limiting factor of this shop is its professional expertise regarding other types of repairs such as mechanical malfunctions, electrical faults, or diagnostics remain unknown.
What we can’t take away from this shop is, undoubtedly, its unbelievable attention to detail when it comes to making a car look like it has never backed into a tree or kissed another car in its life.
Even with more major repairs and restorations, we found its quotations to be reasonably priced considering how expensive repairs of this nature can be. Every single replacement part sourced for any car model is also of very high quality as well.
We think Neepan and the Auto 360MTL team are what drove the shop to be one of the best bodywork services around town, all while being great people persons who are dedicated to making your ride look just like new.

With over 50 years of experience in all things automotive, Autocare Montreal takes pride in working on any set of wheels that rolls (or gets towed) into its aesthetic-looking shop. Our take is that it’s already a sign that you’re in good hands.
But don’t let the Audi and Porsche photos fool you into thinking only the elites get to break something and have it dealt with by it at the end of the day.
We reckon it’s just the shop’s way of saying it really does mean it when it says it can work on any car, be it a 6-figure exotic or your mom’s daily.
No price-gouging is to be found in this place either, and you can be assured that you’re always receiving only top-quality parts and no knock-offs.
Tesla and other EV owners are also more than welcome at Autocare Montreal, which is one of the rare places that are EV-certified. Again, another plus for this repair shop.
But while the staff members are friendly, time and efficiency are your worst enemies with their services.
Calls are sometimes unanswered, some tasks take way too long for what they are, and their billing system can be quite unreliable, which can result in unnecessarily pricier quotes.
